All-on-6 Implant Technique

The All-on-6 implant technique is an advanced implant treatment method designed to restore chewing function with fixed and aesthetic prostheses in patients who are completely edentulous or have advanced tooth loss. In this technique, six implants are placed in one jaw to support a full-arch fixed prosthesis. With the additional implant support, the stability of the prosthesis and load distribution are improved. The procedure is usually performed in a clinical setting under local anesthesia or sedation, and in necessary cases, it can also be carried out under general anesthesia in an operating room.

What is the All-on-6 implant technique?

The All-on-6 implant technique is based on supporting a full-arch fixed prosthesis with six implants placed in strategic regions of the jawbone. This method ensures a more balanced distribution of chewing forces on the implants. It aims to achieve long-term and durable results, especially in patients with sufficient bone structure.

In which situations is the All-on-6 implant technique applied?

It is applied in completely edentulous patients, in individuals with high chewing forces, and in situations where maximum stability from a fixed prosthesis is expected. It is also preferred in cases where there is sufficient bone volume and additional implant support is planned.

Things to consider before the All-on-6 implant technique

The patient’s general health, existing systemic diseases, and regularly used medications should be thoroughly evaluated. Radiographic and tomographic examinations should be performed to assess the jawbone structure, plan implant placement, and design the prosthesis. Maintaining oral hygiene, including brushing teeth and using an antiseptic mouthwash, helps reduce the risk of infection.

Things to consider after the All-on-6 implant technique

After the procedure, medications prescribed by the dentist should be taken regularly, and hard or hot foods should be avoided during the first days. Smoking and alcohol consumption are not recommended, as they can negatively affect the healing process. Oral hygiene should be maintained, and regular follow-up appointments should not be missed. Periodic dental check-ups are very important for the long-term and healthy use of the prosthesis.
