Straumann Implant

Straumann implants are implant systems that have been safely used for many years in the treatment of missing teeth, supported by scientific studies and with a high success rate. Thanks to their special surface technologies that provide strong integration with the bone, they aim to achieve successful results both functionally and aesthetically. They have a wide range of indications, from single-tooth gaps to completely edentulous cases. The procedure is mostly performed in a clinical setting under local anesthesia or sedation, and in necessary cases, it can also be carried out under general anesthesia in an operating room.

What is a Straumann Implant?

Straumann implants are dental implant systems made from titanium or titanium-zirconium alloy materials, with high biocompatibility. Their enhanced surface structure supports faster adhesion of bone cells to the implant. This feature contributes to a shorter healing time and increased long-term stability of the implant.

In which cases are Straumann implants preferred?

They are preferred in patients with single or multiple missing teeth, in older age groups, in cases with limited bone quality, and in individuals seeking a long-lasting solution. They are also frequently used in situations requiring a fast healing process and in treatments where prosthetic planning is a priority.

Precautions Before Straumann Implant Treatment

Before the treatment, the patient's systemic health status, existing chronic diseases, and regularly used medications should be thoroughly evaluated. The structure, volume, and density of the jawbone should be analyzed using radiographic imaging methods. Maintaining oral hygiene, brushing teeth, and using antiseptic mouthwash help reduce the risk of infection that may occur after the procedure.

Precautions After Straumann Implant Treatment

After the implant procedure, no pressure should be applied to the implant area during the first 24 hours, and hot foods and drinks should be avoided. Smoking and alcohol consumption are not recommended as they can negatively affect the healing process. Medications prescribed by the dentist should be taken regularly, and oral hygiene should be performed carefully with gentle movements. Attending follow-up appointments regularly is very important for the long-term success of the implant.
