ENDODONTIC CANAL TREATMENT

Endodontic treatment is applied as a result of damage, inflammation, necrosis or trauma to the pulp tissue consisting of vessels and nerves in the innermost part of the tooth. In this process, the inflamed pulp tissue is removed from the tooth canals, the canals are sterilised, the inflamed surfaces are cleaned and shaped with canal instruments. After this procedure, the root canals can be filled in the first session depending on the degree of inflammation in the root canals, or the root canals can be filled with filling in the second session after the drug is placed in the root canal and waited for about 10 days. In cases requiring root canal treatment, symptoms can be reduced with antibiotic application, but recovery is not possible unless root canal treatment is performed. If endodontic treatment is delayed, inflammation occurs at the tip of the root and may progress towards the jawbone and damage it. In these cases, treatment becomes difficult and surgical interventions or extraction of the tooth is required. Root canal treatment is performed under local anaesthesia. For this reason, it is carried out comfortably and without pain by the patient. Sensitivity and pain in the relevant area for 1-2 days after root canal treatment is normal and temporary. After root canal treatment, teeth may be more prone to fracture and it may be necessary to make a prosthetic tooth (crown) to protect the tooth.
